‘SPECTACULAR ZEE AND THE CITY PUPPET’

Molly has loved working with puppets throughout her career. After five years focused on public art and mural installs, puppets took a back seat - until now. She’s reunited with Puppets With Guts, not as a puppeteer or fabricator, but as Design Consultant and Graphic Designer for their public walk‑out production at Bradford UK City of Culture 2025.

It was a lovely change from Molly’s usual mural paper-cut collage design process to create an illustrative design for a giant inflatable flying telescope! Picking up her pens, she enjoyed designing the object in her lesser‑known illustrative line style.

Design Consultant

Drawing on her experience creating bold, colourful, joyful public art, Molly joined the project as a design consultant. It was a natural fit for her to help shape the visual language for the elements accompanying Puppets with Guts’ walk‑around puppet for Bradford UK City of Culture 2025.

Her work included exploring typography, developing costume concepts, and inspiring the community‑engagement aspects of the spectacle.

Molly has been enjoying visual design consulting for various creative organisations and loves collaborating to bring joy and colour to public spaces - especially through performance.
