Canterbury Tunnel Mural

Hackington Place Tunnel

Molly was thrilled to create a new public artwork in Canterbury. The mural has brought fresh colour and energy to the 17‑metre‑long Hackington Place Tunnel on St Stephen’s Walkway. Molly delivered three workshop sessions with the local community, centred on using collage to express ideas, feelings, and impressions of St Stephen’s, Canterbury.

This project was commissioned by Canterbury City Council.

Molly’s work brings joy and invites us to slow down, look closely, and reconnect with the world around us.”

Collage design workshop

Thank you to everyone who took part in the collage workshops. It was brilliant to meet you all and see so many playful, imaginative collages come to life. We explored colour, shape, and pattern through simple paper‑cut techniques, creating abstract compositions inspired by the local area.

Molly designed the mural for Hackington Place Tunnel using ideas from across the sessions. The mural isn’t an exact copy of any one collage; your colours, shapes, and ideas are part of the story we told together.

Thank you again! Your creativity helped shape the final design.
