THERMOPLASTIC FLOOR ARTWORK, FLOOR MURAL, CONCRETE SEATING
Molly Hawkins was delighted to collaborate with TCN UK on a vibrant public art project next to Bristol Temple Meads Station. As part of the redevelopment of Temple Studios & Temple 1852, the project includes a 60-metre painted floor artwork, custom public seating and playful pelican crossings.
The aim was to transform the car park into a colourful, creative and engaging public space.
Molly developed the design through:
Collage: experimenting with paper cut-outs to explore compositions and ideas.
Model-making: testing the scale and layout of the seating within the space.
Travel inspiration: drawing on Copenhagen’s contemporary design and minimalist art.
Using a contemporary, minimalist approach, Molly refined the designs to balance functionality with visual impact. The result is a bold and playful environment that brings colour and creativity to the heart of Bristol.
